-Born near Thun (Switzerland) in 1944. After a first vocational training as a draftsman he got his high-school diploma, afterwards studying Mathematics, Physics and Mathematical Statistics at the University of Bern, where he graduated in Mathematics in 1972.\\ +Born 24.07.1944.
